The first official teaser trailer for director Bill Collins’ “Mr. Holmes” was released earlier today. The trailer features Sir Ian Mckellen as long-retired Sherlock Holmes with housekeeper Mrs Munro (Laura Linney) and her small son Roger (Milo Parker):

The film is based of the 2006 novel, “A Slight Trick of the Mind” by Mitch Cullin. Set in 1947, the film follows 93-year old Holmes, now suffering dementia, as he tries to solve one last case with his young protégée. It’s sure to be a heartbreaking and touching look into Sherlock Holmes.

Last month the following clip was released depicting Sherlock and Roger discussing the case:

The film is set to hit UK theaters this summer and a US release is expected later this year.
