Love him or loathe him personally, it goes without saying that Tyrion Lannister is likely to be one of the most enduring characters within the Game of Thrones universe. His stature may not be great – but his presence definitely is, and “The Imp’s” dry humour has added the certain ferocious indispensable zest to the story.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, this fierce imp has proven to be a character so popular, that G R R Martin (the man who started it all), felt that there had to be a new book dedicated to Tyrion, and Tyrion alone. Hopefully just in time for Christmas (or for Chanukkah, or for the Winter Solstice, depending on whichever you prefer to celebrate), to fill the festive stockings of dedicated Game of Thrones fans, a book intriguingly dubbed “The Wit and Wisdom of Tyrion Lannister” will be coming out. Brimming full of witty and sharp quotes by a fellow who is as much of a fighter and survivor as he is fond of jest, it is going to be a welcome arrival in the fantasy-literature land this year.

About the Contributing Reporter: Olga A.
Hailing from the swirling mists of London, I am a freelance journalist in my free time, and a huge fan of J R Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings,” as well as an admirer of the “Game of Thrones,” a worshipper of H P Lovecraft, a follower of R. Howard, a Star Wars aficionado and an Ursula Le Guin enthusiast. My other favourite things include Middle Eastern dance (sometimes somewhat discourteously referred to as “belly” dancing), Yoga, sunsets over the dreaming spires of Oxford and plush owls. Oh, and green tea too.
