Kickstarter in Progress: TFN’s The Inventor, by Creator Wyatt Moore

Have you seen The Inventor yet? It may be the weirdest show you’ve ever seen. But it’s fun too. Miller is a prodigy inventor who doesn’t discriminate when it comes to test subjects, namely people. The Kickstarter to help fund the series is happening now—and it promises to be epic!

Here’s a quick look behind the scenes of The Inventor’s inspiration, from Wyatt and his team, based on their Kickstarter page.

The Inventor was born in an unfinished garage in Monrovia, California. Originally made as a short film by Wyatt Moore, his brother Miles and his ol’ buddy Tyler.  We uploaded the short to YouTube, and people seemed to like the idea of a teenage scientific prodigy running experiments on his roommates while they slept.

We didn’t break the internet or anything, but we had a lot of fun making it, so we made a few more episodes. The sets and props were already built, so we thought, why not? We can stop whenever we want!

After uploading the episodes to the web-based platform Stareable, we ended up getting nominated for Best Comedy and Best Writing at Stareable Fest in NYC that year. A few short months after that, we got picked up by the streaming service The Fantasy Network for distribution.

Since this whole thing started, we’ve kept up with it simply because we want to, but it’s a bit more than that. Wyatt, Miles and Tyler have been making videos together since high school. Not for monetary gain or views, because we truly love this stuff, and The Inventor was just a continuation of that. Some people run fantasy football leagues, we shoot weird, sometimes funny videos.

But as the project grew, so did our own interest in the world. It was the thing we looked forward to at the end of the week, and the characters became our favorite to play around with.

The positive response the show received from Stareable and The Fantasy Network has encouraged us to keep The Inventor-ball rolling. And roll it we shall! We have a plethora of new ideas, some of which you can see in the concept art we posted along with the campaign. New inventions, characters, locations and a whole lot more!
