Making Star Wars has recently posted a good amount of rumors regarding Episode VII and what may or may not be featured in the film. One particular paragraph set certain corners of the Internet abuzz with talk of a possible Obi-Wan Kenobi standalone movie.
Obi-Wan Kenobi – I’ve heard from quite a few people now that an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie is in the works. For the spin-off movies they were initially going to stay away from any Jedi or Sith characters. But I’m hearing now that because of the popularity of Obi-Wan (fans recently voting for him on the official website etc) that an art team is now working with a writer on concepts for an Obi-Wan movie.
Of course, this still remains firmly in the realm of speculation and rumor, but c’mon. How great would a solo Obi-Wan film be? After all, what did he do out there in the Jundland Wastes for two decades besides keep an eye on Luke? If this rumor does turn out to be true, Ewan McGregor had better reprise his role or the Internet will implode.
