Doctor Who's Karen Gillan in New Series!

Whovians rejoice!  Karen Gillan, who played The Doctor’s former companion Amelia Pond, recently received word that her show Selfie will be picked up by ABC. The show is based upon My Fair Lady, where Gillan’s character Eliza Dooley experiences a recent horrific breakup which becomes a viral video. Dooley then recruits some help to recover her “tarnished image”.

Starring alongside Gillan will be John Cho (of Star Trek fame) and Homeland‘s David Harewood.

Gillan recently moved to Los Angeles to focus on a myriad of new projects. Recently, she played Daisy on an episode of NTSF:SD:SUV and her new horror film Oculus is currently in theaters. Her newest project is Guardians of the Galaxy, out this summer. She will play Nebula in the film, a role for which she shaved her head.
