The Daily Mail reported that a stage play based on the insanely popular and influential book series by JK Rowling will make a West End debut in 2015. Rowling is said to co-produce the adaptation, with producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender at the helm. The UK publication stated that the play will focus on ‘the previously untold story of Harry Potter’s early years as an orphan and outcast’.
Now that that’s been said, I have to wonder as to the validity of this report. The Daily Mail isn’t exactly known for its hard-hitting nor accurate news, unlike Bleeding Cool, which almost always turns out to be spot-on in regards to rumors of this magnitude.
What do you guys think? If this stage play does indeed come to fruition, do you think it would actually be any good? Would you shell out money to see it, or simply content yourself with rewatching A Very Potter Musical and its sequels?
