While one major casting rumor is shot down, another one has popped up, this time in the world of comic book movies. Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, Riddick, Bionic Woman, Longmire) is the name that’s floating around the rumor mill as a strong possibility to portray Carol Danvers as soon as 2014.
According to Comics Alliance, “Sackhoff told the hosts of the Schmoes Know podcast that “there’s some stuff going on” between her and Disney, namely the company checking into her availability for early 2014”. However, the name Carol Danvers hasn’t been used just yet. The now-Captain Marvel (formerly Miss Marvel) may make an appearance in the Avengers sequel, Age of Ultron, or “maybe it just means Disney’s hoping to snag her as the voice of a mysterious helicopter in Planes 2: Enter the Chopper […]. It’s all pretty hazy right now”.
Given Katee’s acting ability and how expansive her nerd portfolio is, I can easily see her in this role. What do you think? Is she perfect, or do you have another choice to don the mantle of Captain Marvel?
